You'll Never Walk Alone

Today is a special Music Monday after listing to this yesterday I still shed a tear. Every year the MDA Telethon was closed out by Jerry Lewis singing "You'll Never Walk Alone". This song still stands true.

Jerry Lewis I will Miss You!

Some love him, some love to hate him but the man changed my life and for me, he will be missed. I always sit and think would I be who I am if it was not for Jerry Lewis and his Labor Day Telethon to raise money with one goal to find a cure for over 40 neuromuscular diseases. If it was not for the telethon that my dad so carefully put together locally every year would I still have done something so important in my life as MDA Camp? My heart my soul my life and the way I live it every day stems from what this man has done for the world.  Jerry Lewis opened the doors to a world that I can not imagine not being a part of.

For many Lewis will be remembered for his film and comedian career for me he gave my life a path that after 40 plus years I still follow to this day.

Every labor day even when our local telethon was already in full swing I would still find a TV set tuned into the main feed just to hear his opening monolog listing for the words "We found a cure" and every year even tho those words were never spoken he would tell us hopeful we are getting close.

Before you think no good has come out of this at one time there were well over 40 types and then they adopted if you will a few more as the years went on. Today we only have 30! And only 9 of those are big ones like ALS, SMA, and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. With SMA having a new trial under way they feel strongly about a cure they also may have found a way to reverse the effects with some patients that suffer with it today.

Jerry said once and it has stuck with me forever "We will find a cure in my life time" Sadly Jerry will not see this day but every year we get so much closer and the man that has given many of us hope is no longer with us. From this fan, he will be missed and he will "Never Walk Alone." And I will never stop the fight as we inch closer to the day we never have to worry about MDA every again.

Thank You, Jerry, for shaping my life to what it is today.

Bob

Rocky Horror turns 42 today

A low-budget homage to the kitschy charms of B-grade sci-fi and horror movies premieres in London on this day in 1975 and will have its US debut a month later, but it won't make much of a splash either critically or commercially at first. Nevertheless, 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show" won't remain obscure for long, becoming a cult classic and midnight-movie mainstay and a Halloween staple to this day! Happy 42 Birthday Brad and Janet.

Scare's Coming Soon

It's been a while since I have done one of these so here are my Top Five horror movies that I can not wait to see this Fall! First off a little retelling if you will...

Puppet Master The Littlest Reich

I'm ok with retelling a story with a new and modern twist and a different studio behind could make the franchise feel good again. So yeah I can not wait to see this one. I will admit not so sure I like the new puppets so only time will tell.

The Cult of Chucky

Chucky returns after the events of Curse of Chucky to continue terrorizing his wheelchair-bound victim, Nica. Meanwhile, the killer doll has some scores to settle with his old enemies, with the help of his former wife. Chucky never grows old, and with them taking more of a serious turn this looks to be a fantastic and twisted joy ride.

IT!

So really how is not looking forward to this one?

Puppet Master Axis of Evil

Am a huge Puppet Master fan and with this being the final chapter of the Axis Saga - which began with Axis of Evil and continued with Axis Rising - everyone's favorite pint-sized puppet anti-heroes- Blade, Pinhead, Tunneler, Jester, Six Shooter, and Leech Woman - join forces with a secret team of psychics working as Allied Operatives. And this one looks great!

And the number one movie I just can not wait to see this Fall...

Leatherface

SHIT BALLS!!! This looks insane and I just can not wait! Why of why did Lionsgate sell out on this one? A prequel about teenage Leatherface who escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.

The direct TV gets the rights to this one starting in September before we get an October Blu-ray or DVD I will be skipping any tweets or post's about this movie in fact after this trailer I do not want to spoil it by watching any others. This just looks like something that should be watched on a big screen.

Ok, so what are you horror hounds looking forward too? Let me know in the comments below.

Dementia 13 Remake News

When it comes to horror movies that beloved horror host's use often it would have to be Night of the Living Dead and Francis Ford Coppola’s Dementia 13. It's is a wonderful telling of a ghost story. In DEMENTIA 13, a vengeful ghost, a mysterious killer and a family brimming with secrets converge in one night of terror! Chiller Films have announced that Richard LeMay’s will be retelling Dementia 13 and it is set to hit theatres this October 6th and then on Digital HD this October 10th. The image above is the only one I can find so far Its like Chiller is really out to tease us slowly. Dementia 13 has always been a Halloween staple for me it was a very well done movie, and Dark Ride was great, so maybe we will get a fun little remake here. As soon as the trailer hits the interweb I will post it here.

For The First Time

Ok so I am not the biggest Country Music fan, in fact, I much rather skip hearing it. On the other hand, this guy is a huge Hootie and the Blowfish fan so when Darius Ricker's new song popped up on my feeds I gave it a spin. And guess what I love it! In fact, at some point, I will check out the whole album. In the mean time here is For the First Time....

Happy Monday everybody.

Happiest Place on Earth...Horizon Camp

Ok, so I have not had much time write about camp but let's just say this year was fantastic. Steve and I had a blast. All through the heat kept us indoors in the after noon we sure kept our self's busy.

His body is an empty shell that hides a lustful fiend!
